Accessing the house:

LOCATION/DRIVEWAY: The location for Siren’s Song is dramatic — it is carved into the middle of a hill, and as such, the driveway is easy to miss. We recommend guests simply pull in to the Machiasport Congregational Church parking lot (378 Port Rd., and located directly across the street from Siren’s Song), and then cross the street into the driveway. And when pulling out of the driveway, it’s easy to just always turn right! Maneuvering is quite easy once you know how, but many a person has overshot our home on their way down the hill!

GETTING IN: There are key code doors on both the front and garage doors, which will have a unique code assigned to each guest. Your 4-digit code will be emailed to you a few days prior to your stay with us.

There is wireless internet for you to use during your stay:

There are two wireless options from Spectrum, a 2G and 5G, which you will see when connecting devices. If you’re working, or only connecting a couple devices, we recommend using the 5G. If using 4 or more devices, or working outside the home (on the patio, for example), we recommend using the 2G option (offers better range). The WiFi password is tallrose414.

Use the thermostat:

There are two thermostats in the property. The lower level thermostat is in the living room, on the wall between the foyer and dining room. It is an older thermostat and is adjusted by turning the dial to the desired setting. The thermostat on the upper level is a digital thermostat, located on the wall at the top of the stairs. It can be adjusted up or down using the keypad.

Use the washer/dryer:

Like many of the wonderful surprises at Siren’s Song, the washer and dryer are hidden: they are located in the large cabinets in the master bathroom. Both are standard to operate.

The first aid kit and feminine supplies are in the first floor bathroom cabinet.

The fire extinguisher is in the kitchen, beneath the sink.

There is no “Insinkerator” in the sink, so please dispose of food refuse as you create it in the garbage, located below the sink.

The TV:

The TV is a smart Roku TV, which provides you with access to Netflix free of charge. Simply turn on the TV and select “Netflix” from the main menu using the remote control.

The Bluetooth speaker (in the living room):

Power the speaker on, and connect your smartphone by selecting it (“Amazonbasics210”) in your Bluetooth settings. The speaker will then be able to play your music.

There are a bevy of games, books, etc. for fun in the upstairs landing, in the storage cabinet.

The Grounds:

You have access to the full home (sans some storage areas), as well as the grounds, which includes a working pond, apple orchard and acre+ for hiking and wandering. The home is across the street from public access (for boating or beach combing) to Machias Bay.
